The Yorkshire Patent Steam Wagon Co. was a builder of steam powered vehicles in Leeds. Steam cars were built from 1901 to 1937. The Yorkshire Steam Wagon had a horizontal boiler unlike many other steam powered brands. The horizontal boiler was a solution for tilting steam car in hilly environments.

The (Y8-5) 1917 Yorkshire Steam Wagon has always been a collectors favourite as are heavy goods vehicles and with the Yorkshire being both steamer and HGV, it was a winning combination. The liveries were an excellent choice as all were very attractive yet different enough to ensure demand stayed high for this model. There are no rare variations regardless of the livery.

The Samuel Smith with the Barrels Load can be found with either Y8 or Y32 inscribed on the baseplate as both types were in use at the time.
